Susanne Vernon (studio #112) and Marie Gruber (studio #109) both had pieces selected for the juried Artisphere Artists of the Upstate exhibition. "This annual juried show, open to artists living within a 35-mile radius of Greenville, SC, seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by artists of the Upstate region of South Carolina." Works from 51 upstate artists will be on display at Centre Stage starting April 9 through May 28, 2010, with an Opening Reception on Friday, April 9th from 6:30pm – 9:00pm at Centre Stage (501 River Street,downtown Greenville).
The exhibition is free to the public and will be viewable during Centre Stage regular hours of operation, during the April 9th opening reception, and during Artisphere festival hours (Friday, May 7, 4-8:30pm, Saturday, May 8, 10am-8:30pm, and Sunday, May 9, 11am-6pm).
Susanne's piece "Contemplation", shown below, was selected for the exhibit.
This exhibition is a part of Greenville's annual arts event Artisphere. From the Artisphere mission statement: "Artisphere: Arts.Culture.Life presented by Carolina First will be held downtown from Friday, May 7 – Sunday, May 9, 2010. Artisphere’s mission is to showcase the arts, reflect the area’s international flair, encourage economic development and bring awareness to existing local arts programs".
